Double-Layer Mobile Edge Computing-Enabled Power Line Inspection in Smart Grid Networks

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have the advantages of flexibility, low cost, and good communication channel gain. In recent years, inspection power grid systems supported by UAVs has been widely used. However, due to constraint wireless channels UAVs, it is impossible transmit video content surveillance center. To solve this problem, in study, a new mobile edge computing (MEC) technology-enabled line scheme for smart networks was designed. Within scheme, double-layer MEC architecture proposed. upper-level layer, several installed with equipment can locally process videos higher propriety. At same time, remaining tasks lower priority are performed terrestrial base stations. addition, cost minimization problem proposed solved alternating optimization algorithm. The simulation results show that algorithm significantly reduce energy consumption system.
